Film finish vs "hard wax"? - abernat - 01-03-2018 My sister is buying a dining room table and had a question about finishes. The crafter offers two options - a low-VOC film finish or a "hard wax" finish. She has a 7-year-old who is rough on furniture and wants something that looks nice but will be able to survive him. Does anyone have any suggestions? There are some excellent ones out there nowadays. I would definitely go that route over a hard wax finish. A table top gets too much use for a hard wax, IMO. What will be very important is that your sister takes care with what she uses to clean it with. |
