Magnetic Children's Blocks - MsNomer - 01-05-2018 The description and user reviews say that the magnets in these blocks always attract and never repel. How are they doing this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0776DMB6N/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1 RE: Magnetic Children's Blocks - Alan S - 01-05-2018 (01-05-2018, 10:47 AM)MsNomer Wrote: The description and user reviews say that the magnets in these blocks always attract and never repel. How are they doing this? One way would be to allow the magnets to freely turn inside the wood. They will reorient to attract. You could probably drill holes for little ball magnets, and plug behind them. If they broke open, swallowing more than one magnet is quite dangerous though. RE: Magnetic Children's Blocks - AHill - 01-05-2018 It's possible there's a magnet on one end of a side, and a steel or iron plate on the other. That way, if it repels, you just turn the piece around and it snaps together. RE: Magnetic Children's Blocks - MsNomer - 01-06-2018 Aha! Ball magnets. Didn't know there was such a thing. That has to be it. Thanks. RE: Magnetic Children's Blocks - MarkSingleton - 01-06-2018 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqAojILWZDI RE: Magnetic Children's Blocks - MsNomer - 01-06-2018 Oh, WOW!! How are they doing this? We bought a set of these for the grandkids (plastic, not wood). They behave like normal magnets. You have to orient the blocks correctly or they repel. But, our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter figured it out quickly. The kids really like them.... |
