Parcel Box? - JDuke - 03-04-2018 Moved out of town and now we have a long driveway with a gate. Nobody local to me sells parcel boxes for ups and post office to drop packages in, so I can't go look at these. Anybody have experience with one they like or a brand thats good and durable. I'd rather have one that I can bolt to a stone pillar, but would consider a ground mounted one as well. I have some concrete around a flower bed at entrance and 2x2 foot block posts with stone veneer, so I have mounting options. Just don't want to order a piece of garbage. Duke RE: Parcel Box? - Robert Adams - 03-04-2018 Never knew there was such a thing. But I did just see an ad for a lock on Kickstarter that is opened by the Barcode on the package. Looks interesting for those in areas where stuff is stolen off the porch. RE: Parcel Box? - Stwood_ - 03-04-2018 Just the other day, I saw an old metal, rusted, beat up JobBox sitting at the end of a long driveway. RE: Parcel Box? - JDuke - 03-04-2018 I'm more concerned with keeping stuff dry than theft. Theft hasn't been a problem yet, but it wouldn't surprise me much. The rusty job box while effective would not meet the wife's standards. Would have to mark it for parcel use and not U.S.P.S. only or they will not allow others to use. https://www.amazon.com/Gibraltar-Mailboxes-Extra-Large-Galvanized-ST200B00/dp/B000CSK3RA RE: Parcel Box? - DieselDennis - 03-05-2018 (03-05-2018, 09:06 AM)messmaker Wrote: We receive a lot of parcels. That looks a lot like the jumbo mailbox we ordered from the BORG back when LOML was doing a lot of mailing. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gibraltar-Mailboxes-Jumbo-Galvanized-Steel-Post-Mount-Mailbox-Black-ST200B00/100210072 It will swallow some flat rate boxes. It also catches all the Fed-Ex "parcel post partner" packages the mailman brings. All the Amazon stuff from UPS still ends up on the porch. It looks like options abound for parcel drop boxes. They range from expensive to stupid expensive. You say you don't have a problem with theft, might be easier to just leave the gate open. A box with the lid on the top would work better for larger packages. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/aa/6d/8d/aa6d8dcb1bb1338e3bec52e470eb613c.jpg cc757945055cc8d2a0c114b0e1c30ee1.jpg http://repcod.com/i/outdoor-cushion-storage-containers-waterproof-garden-cushion-storage-waterproof-garden-storage-patio-storage-cabinet-outdoor-deck-storage-small-outdoor-storage-cabinet-outdoor-storage-box-seat.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/564x/93/87/ad/9387ad61accc6f37d419292c6bca0f45.jpg |
