Did anyone know that Bridge City made Planes? - Arlin Eastman - 04-08-2018

Well I sure found out and they look really nice to.

I did not look to see how much they cost tho since I wanted to keep my eyebrows.

Wow. Looks like a reinvention of the hand plane. Most that I looked at are "not in production" yet.

If you have to ask the price, you shouldn't be shopping at Bridge City.

Their little multiplane looks interesting, but not at their prices.  Just for the plane body, you could get a pristine, complete Stanley 45.

Yes, and you won't even scorch your eyeballs. Or, lose them. John fiddle faddles with a lot of stuff. I think he is doing chopsticks now.

I think given that thread here a month or two ago, started by the guy that had been waiting for Bridge City to recalibrate some gear he had sent them many months previous, that I'll spend my premium plane dollars @ Lee Valley.

Once I can afford premium planes, that is.

That is why I did not even look.
Smirk   Someone had a link there for some straight edges and the 36" is $130 and so I looked at the planes and really loved the look and did not want to see the price.

But the planes sure do look nice tho.

One of Bridge City's first offerings, if not the first, was a sleek looking shoulder plane.  Every couple of years, they'll come out with some new plane.  They are definitely functional artwork.
