I think for most of my routing, a cordless would be okay.  The cord is certainly a pain, who among us hasn't gotten close to routing through the cord?

I would be really impressed if they manage to make liion batteries obsolete.  Heck, people are still buying the old nicad stuff.  And those really were disposable. At least for Dewalt, the Chinese are selling decent liion batteries, so if they do move on, there will be batteries as long as the tools work. Looks like dewalt is really starting to fill their line in with 60v tools, and they aren't a lot more expensive than the 20v tools
