There's a setting in your User CP (top left of screen). Ck that
Also ck your spam email folder.

Got into the User CP and checked all boxes in Messages and Notifications. Also changed to Email Notifications. Is that all I have to do?

Should be. There is also a lag in this place sending out email notifications. I've gotten them 3 days later.
