***SOLD*** 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - alanealane - 10-20-2018 THIS IS SOLD AND HAS BEEN PICKED UP. THANKS I have to make room for the car to get back in the garage this winter. So the wood has to go Zip 49224 is where it's located...pickup only. Prefer to sell all at once but will piece it out. PayPal or money order only. It's hard Norway Maple from a tree that grew in front of the house I lived in most of my life. The compression curl is impressive in many of the slabs. The tree also produced some "angel-step" curl. The guy who milled and dried it was an amateur so there's some areas of checking, but nothing a couple bowties/butterflies can't fix. There's approximately 350 board feet available which equates to 15 slabs. I conservatively measured each slab width at the ends and middle and here are the sizes per piece (all 2" thick rough sawn and dried for about 8 years): Widths Length 8,9,14 88 9,13,9 80 14,13,18 108 14,10,20 108 14,18,11 94 21,20,21 112 17,14,17 112 19,19,19 112 21,19,20 112 21,21,21 107 21,21,21 112 21,20,21 108 21,20,19 110 11,11,13 90 20,11,14 106 Here's a teaser of what many of these slabs contain but I'm keeping this one : RE: 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - Juss1 - 10-21-2018 Wish I was closer RE: 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - RonB1957 - 10-21-2018 (10-21-2018, 07:43 AM)Juss1 Wrote: Wish I was closer Kicking the tires, really. Ya - I wish I was about 1500 miles closer, too, at least until I got the maple. Then I'd just as soon be here. Works better to wish the lumber was here - 'bout as effective, too. Cost for the lot is $450 as listed in the subject line. That figures out to $1.29/bf. I can't get construction lumber here for that. RE: 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - Arlin Eastman - 10-21-2018 I would like to get us a 14" wide board to make a few platters out of it. Hopefully that might tempt someone to make a longer drive....maybe not 1500 miles though RE: 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - UpstateNYdude - 10-22-2018 I need to move, all the good machines and lumber are either in the midwest or Cali, lumber prices in the northeast suck lol. RE: 350 bf Hard Maple slabs by the piece or $450 takes all - deeno - 10-22-2018 How thick are the slabs? I am interested. Nice wide board and as it says in the original post - "(all 2" thick rough sawn and dried for about 8 years)". I can think of a lot of projects I could do with boards that wide and thick that I can't do with the 4-6" wide and scant 3/4" thick stuff you usually see.
