I have one of the bases with two wheels on the back and one retractable caster on the front, and that thing is tippy as all get out. I was really impressed with it when I got the first one. I bought it for my Nova Voyager. I had to cut down the front and back rails because the minimum width wasn't narrow enough. This mobile base on my Voyager is rock solid! At $54.00 it is totally worth the price. RE: Retracting casters Mobile base - Stwood_ - 11-30-2018 My jointer is set up with 2 solid wheels, and 1 foot operated caster. I'm happy with it, though I seldom ever move it. http://www.grizzly.com/products/Grizzly-8-Jointer-with-Parallelogram-Beds-and-Spiral-Cutterhead/G0490X RE: Retracting casters Mobile base - EricU - 12-03-2018 my delta dj-20 jointer has the delta base, only one caster on the one end. It rolls around fine. A bandsaw is a lot more tippy than a jointer. I forgot to mention that my problem with a tippy mobile base was with my bandsaw, but the OP is asking about a mobile base for his bandsaw RE: Retracting casters Mobile base - Jack01 - 12-06-2018 (11-28-2018, 08:03 PM)bob-t Wrote: Thanks everyone for the input. Good suggestions. I will be doing some experiments next couple of weeks. Let you know the outcome. |
