Shop update - Wild Turkey - 12-16-2018

Yes, it's totally unorganized.  Had to get the stuff in out of the rain.  This year is the second wettest year on record.

Got a little
Rolleyes help from Fescue and moved my big tools.  Also found a dozen 4' square frames on CL that I am converting into tables.

My super neighbor works for a cabinet manufacturer and had a big sheet of melamine covered particle board he wanted to get rid of so it's going to be the table tops.  He thinks he can get some more
Cool

The engine in the floor is a GMC 401 V-6 I'm hoping to put in my '49 Willys PU.

But that's a project for another day

Nice on the tables. We have sooooooooo many cover sheets on the units of plywood that we get that we just end up putting them in the dumpster. Some are really cool looking woodgrain Melamine. A few VC plywood sheets have been set aside,

Cool

Looks like you have windows to trim out.
Floors to scrub....
Ceiling staying open?
You have a narrow roll up door there on the end wall....for?

Tables will be nice to have, you can pile them deep.

Those engines quit being manufactured after about 1966? I think.
Good powerful engines. Had a long stroke.
That's a pretty tall engine for a Willy's. Probably short enough, but you may have to put a 2' tall hood scoop on it.

Good luck getting a transmission adapter for it.

Door is 8' to give access to storage shed behind shop.

I have enough windows to add a second one to each frame for more insulation as part of framing them in (now that I have my TS, etc on site).

Looks like good lighting. LED? About 28 feet wide by how long? Nice high ceiling 10'+? Looks like it is going to be a nice size shop.

33 8' LED's I got from "Closed for Business" (IIRC
Rolleyes )  Yes, these old eyes need plenty of light!

32' x 48' x 12'  I can maneuver an 8' board without worrying about hitting lights.

I'm fed up with trying to work in a 1-car garage space

OK, don't ever do that again. It hurt my eyes. Show us pics when it is organized and cleaned up.
Eek

That V6 is going to be a squeeze.

Having followed all the headaches you had to get to this point, I think that's pretty cool!

RE: Shop update - MarkSingleton - 12-17-2018

It has been a long ride for you.

Looking good so far and I bet you feel it
was worth it.  Or, you will anyway!!!

Looks better than a couple of sea containers welded together ever would.
