I am not seeing any hold-down clamps that came with the assembly jig or in the OP's photos that can hold down, say, a 1/4" thick 3" wide, 20" long strip, or a 2" x 3" x 25" long leg blank.

I can see a tapering jig pretty easy there.  Add the upper long flat UHMW to the bottom at a different width and buy a few clamps and run it thru the saw.  Not to hard to imagine unless a person is like me and it just gets hard to focus sometimes or widen out my thought pattern.

In other words, one can TURN it into a tapering jig, but can't use it as a tapering jig as we woodworkers know it. That I can agree to.

post it in the shop and sell forum if you decide not to keep it, I might want to turn it into a tapering jig
