Poseidon's Platter - Splinterz25 - 01-08-2019 Hello everyone this is my latest piece, "Poseidon's Platter" it's 14 1/2" D X 4" tall. The center is White Oak the Scalloped edge is segmented Walnut, the Dolphins are also Walnut w/ some sap wood left in for color . It was turned then the scalloped edges were hand carved as were the Dolphins. https://www.facebook.com/serenityartisans/ RE: Poseidon's Platter - chips ahoy - 01-08-2019 Absolutely beautiful, very nice work. RE: Poseidon's Platter - FrankAtl - 01-08-2019 I really like this one! Great job on the dolphins! RE: Poseidon's Platter - Woodshop - 01-08-2019 Very nice work indeed . I have carved dolphins so I know how long it takes to get them to look good. nice job. ![]() I'm a little concerned about the expansion and contraction with the oak against the outer ring. hope it doesn't give you problems. Don RE: Poseidon's Platter - Arlin Eastman - 01-08-2019 Buddy that is amazing. How much carving and how much time did this take? Did you turn the dolphins? How did you do the scalloped edges? RE: Poseidon's Platter - badwhiskey - 01-08-2019 That is really cool! |
