Tune your bandsaw - Timberwolf - 01-17-2019 Best I have ever seen on the subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGbZqWac0jU RE: Tune your bandsaw - Woodenfish - 01-17-2019 I can see where his setup procedures and advice are very good. Most of those bearing upgrades do seem like a lot of money spent with little if any benefit. RE: Tune your bandsaw - Wizard of Oz - 01-17-2019 I use his setup, and even on a cheap HF saw, it works very well. I modified my ShopSmith band saw, and his system works good on that also. RE: Tune your bandsaw - Scoony - 01-18-2019 Very interesting. Going to try his method. Taking the table top offf is the best tip. It was easier to adjust the guide busing after taking the top. Running the blade teeth on middle of the wheel is another good tip. I completed the tune up and did some trial cuts, what a big difference in performance. It is substantially improved. RE: Tune your bandsaw - daddo - 01-19-2019 Found this video years ago. Other than one contradiction, it is good advice. It didn't however fix my problem. RE: Tune your bandsaw - mdhills - 01-19-2019 (01-19-2019, 01:43 PM)daddo Wrote: Found this video years ago. Other than one contradiction, it is good advice. What was your problem, and what did fix it? I do think his advice is generally good, but doesn't make much note about the importance of the blade itself. Also, does anyone believe his advice on blade position applies to flat wheels, as well? (Inca or european saws?) I believe these recommend running the teeth off the front edge. Matt |
