Delta bandsaw tires - Bill Mains - 02-01-2019 Model 28 255 bought in 1999. Current tires are orange. Anyone know if they are glued on? Also, best way to clean Gunk off, gonna try cleaning first? If I change tires...who to buy from? Thanks...Bill in Yankton sd RE: Delta bandsaw tires - fredhargis - 02-01-2019 Mine were not (just a few years older, 28-245). Orange tires make me think those are urethane tires...I thought that saw would have regular rubber (or whatever) tires. I replaced my OEM tires with urethane, and it was a struggle to get them on. But the ones I bought were from Carter. RE: Delta bandsaw tires - Big Dave - 02-04-2019 I just replaced the orange tires on my Delta BS a couple weeks ago with the blue urethane tires from Carter. The orange tires were not glued on, and the Carter tires went on reasonably easy after sitting in a bucket of hot water for a few minutes. I will add, though, that the Carter tires are only 7/8" wide , compared the OEM Delta's at 1". They seem to be working fine, but I did set them flush to the back side of the wheel.... Dave RE: Delta bandsaw tires - Cian - 02-04-2019 Any decent urethane tires should be fine. As mentioned, Carter sells 'em. I got mine from Rockler under a different label. https://www.rockler.com/urethane-band-saw-tires-fits-14-bandsaw |
