with what you have.

Building a fence around my garden.  Custom cut pickets.  Needed some king
posts for corners and transitions.  Had a few treated 2x8s that I scrounged
a couple of years ago.  Ripped them to 3",  treated the below ground w/some
left over asphalt sealer and tops w/Thompsons.  Screwed them together to make
3x3s.  Cut a little detail on the tops to match the pickets.
Not bad for some crappy old 2x8s.

Cool
Pointed the bottoms for what reason? Post driver??

How did you fashion the tops?
Looks like the center (thinnest part) is rounded? Can't quite tell from your picture

Yes.  I'll clamp a couple of scrap 2x4s and drive them w/a 2x4.
May dig half way w/post hole digger.

Pretty high tech build.
Created a cardboard template.

Traced it onto each side/edge.
Cut them on the bandsaw.

Took about 20min to cut them all.

First post set/first sections of fence set.

Just as planned.  I love it when a plan comes together.

You know, I never know what to expect from a thread topic. I was quite pleased by this one,
Yes  . Great use of left over material, I really like the design but the end result is even better, very nice.
