Yeah, yeah, yeah, finish was a bit too sloppy...happens, when you get in too big of a hurry...
..wound up being a "home" for 2 block planes. 
Point was about how to relieve a box of it's lid, was it not? 
The double bead did give the box a way to open the box up without a handle in the way.
