Craftsman 19.2 Batteries - law_kid - 01-03-2020

With Craftsman apparently moving to the 20V platform in the wake of the sale to Stanley/B&D, actual Craftsman 19.2 Li-Ion batteries appear to be out of production--or at least getting harder to find.

Is there a particular after-market brand that people have found to be reliable?  When I look on Amazon I see a bunch of virtually indistinguishable Chinese brands. I know I can go the re-build route at MTO, but I'm just curious if there's a consensus on off-brands.

Thanks.

I bought a bunch of the Craftsman batteries when I bought my 19.2 set of tools. The price was just too good. That being said... I still own a lot of Ryobi tools. Some of them I just prefer the larger Ah batteries on... Circular saw, Weedeater, Hammerdrill. I went with a brand called Energup from Amazon. They have been flawless... last a good long time as well.
This brand at Amazon

This Powilling brand get good reviews as well They are 5Ah

I tried  to buy my 19.2 batteries at Lowes since they carry the Craftsman brand, they only carried 20 volt. Went online and bought the best battery for my drill, double the power and length of working time for about $32.00. Very pleased with these batteries. Write down the numbers on the original battery. Lots of choices but the numbers will get you the correct battery  I found that I could buy the heavy duty single battery or two batteries like the original for the same price. Heavy duty battery is deeper but still fits the original charger.

Was there a particular brand you selected?  Thanks.

I bought it on Amazon. 19.2 Lithium battery, 6 amps which is an upgrade from original battery.
C3XCP 315.PP2011   $34.99
UNSPSC  code#  26111711
You can also buy a 2 pack of the same upgraded batteries for $65.99
As long as your original battery is Lithium the charger will work.  I think ,but not positive the store is Gatoenergy. Not really important if you buy the number given.

Check EBAY. No shortage there.

Just to clarify, I know there are dozens of different options I can buy on eBay and Amazon for the requisite model/platform/form factor of battery. However, since most of these are no-name brands that I have never heard of, my question is whether there was a specific brand that people have experience with and would recommend. Or, if no one has experience with this particular battery format/platform, whether there is a specific brand of aftermarket batteries generally that is considered reliable, so that a purchase of this type of battery from that brand has high chance of being reliable.

Thanks.

Yes, Amazon is showing a lot of aftermarket batteries:  https://www.amazon.com/s?k=craftsman+19.2+volt+li-ion+battery&crid=254SKWZQNO7MJ&sprefix=19.2+Li-Ion%2Caps%2C456&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_11

Go to Batteries Plus and have the originals rebuilt when they die.
