Jurassic park cane - Woodshop - 01-19-2020 I made 3 of the Hammond's amber Cane for Christmas gifts 2019 Casting a crane fly is Not as easy as it looked, getting it in the cast at the right time is critical or they will float thanks to Peter Brown for the heads up I still needed to figure it out for my resin and temperature But I finally figured it out [attachment=23187][attachment=23188][attachment=23189][attachment=23190][attachment=23191][attachment=23193][attachment=23192] I used a dear antler to match the color I was after on the cane , paint and several different stains. The cane would not fit in my photo tent so I improvised on a cloudy day They were a big hit and lots of fun Don RE: Jurassic park cane - Bill Holt - 01-19-2020 Looks like you nailed it! RE: Jurassic park cane - Arlin Eastman - 01-19-2020 That looks really good. Gives me an idea for my dads cane I am making him. Thanks Edit to say you could have put lead shoes on him. RE: Jurassic park cane - clovishound - 01-20-2020 Well, there goes the "No animals were harmed in the making of this cane." disclaimer. Looks great. RE: Jurassic park cane - brianwelch - 01-20-2020 Ummm, did you happen to notice there's a bug in your amber casting? Sheesh, and I thought I needed glasses... Very cool... RE: Jurassic park cane - stillgotten - 01-24-2020 That's cool, reminds me of a scorpion my father had encapsulated it I 'll guess pine sap but don't really know. RE: Jurassic park cane - Woodshop - 02-09-2020 Thanks everyone, I think I do have glasses |
