Need some #8 2 1/2 stainless steel wood screws. Anyone have a good source other than McFeeleys? Thanks.

They stock 2 grades of stainless and different head styles. Roly

I have been buying Grip-Rite screws at Home Depot. They're self-tapping, coarse thread, Torx head. Most Grip-Rites range from poor to mediocre but these have been good.

I buy my screws etc. from CSHardware. Never ordered stainless but everything else I’ve gotten has been good quality.

Keep an eye on the 'Bay...I have found very fair pricing on SST and SiBr screws, as well as SST bolts/nuts/washers, etc...

I just got some at my local Fastenal store. Quicker, easier and cheaper than mail order.

It is pretty easy to find sheet metal screws in stainless steel, not so easy for wood screws.
Also it is easier to find them in larger quantities.
Marsh shows sheet metal screws, you can contact them about wood screws. Also ask about their minimums. They may require that you buy more than your project requires.

Also the Hillman Group. I think they sell wholesale only, but you can ask for the name of one of their distributors:

They sell star bit screws and I prefer them to square drive or Philips screws.

+1, Hard to beat their prices. I usually just stock up and get the 100 lots. Never had a problem ordering from them. A whole lot cheaper than Lowe's on Galvanized Carriage bolts.
