After settling on a set of Pinch Dogs, four 36" Dubuque Aluminum Bar Clamps and four 12" Harbor Freight(Pittsburgh) Quick-Release Bar Clamps, I still haven't picked up any pipe clamps, but I've decided to get Pony/Jorgensen clamps for those.

Does anyone have any recommendations between the 3/4" clamps on this page? https://ponyjorgensen.com/products/pipe-clamps/

Thanks.

the classic 3/4 for pipe is likley what the majority of folks use (that use pipe clamps).   I like the Rockler Bigfoot a little better.

By far I prefer the Jorgenson Pony clamps.

The problem I'm having with PONY clamps is the inconsistency of their descriptions between sellers. They appear to have three different clamps for 3/4" pipe. I was considering the PONY 56 "Deep Reach" & Spreader clamp. but going by reviews it appears that the more recently manufactured (in China) clamps can not be used as spreaders, despite what the ads say.

That leaves the PONY 55 Pro vs. the PONY 50.

Any thoughts?

I may be mistaken but aren't all Jorgensen clamps, Pony included, made in China now? That doesn't mean that they afre no good, just an observation.

FWIW, I've bought several older, made in USA Jorgensen clamps from craigslist and yard sales.

I said Rockler Bigfoot earlier... it's actually SureFoot.   I've found them to be more 'square' than the Jorgensen Pony, and less 'finnicky' as to slippage on the pipe.  Without researching the specs, I believe they advertise the clamp head to be bigger (not significantly).  Price looks to be a couple dollars more than the 3/4" Pony on the home depot website.

I've been checking Craigslist regularly for PONY/Jorgensen, but I may just go with the Rockler:

The PONY/Jorgensen clamps I was attempting to decide between are these:

Museumguy - Yes, all jory/pony clamps are from China now. Have had no experience with non-American Jorg clamps. Can we say the Bridge City Tools items made in the US the same as those now made by Harvey in China? Of course not.

As I stated, being made in China doesn't mean they are inferior to made in USA. I was just pointing out that Jorgensen clamps were now made in China. I haven't bought any of the made in China clamps yet. I don't think I have even read an honest review of them.

Darren, of the three you linked, I think you'll be just fine with the third (the least expensive) one. The center link shows they've added a "foot" to the clamp presumably so it would stand clear of your work surface...but the standard clamp will stand on it's bottom...just without that much clearance. For cabinet work you likely won't need the deep reach so I'd choose the cheaper model.

Thanks a lot.

Now all I have to worry about is the fact that these clamps are now made in China. I've read plenty of horror stories concerning quality items that when to hell when production moved to China and quality control became an issue and/or cheap materials became factors.
