Yah I was wondering that to since they said they used Basswood which is pretty soft stuff but I love carving with it.

Before most woodworkers would buy something like that they would need to see how it does with HARD woods into side grain, end grain, and face grain.

Interesting, but man those are big nails.  I don't think those would be appropriate for a surface that will be stained, since the exposed portion of the nail is end grain.  Unless that's the appearance you're going for.

It is available - has been since last year. The tool is $499 - out of stock right now. The nails aren't cheap.
