Anyone have any reviews on carter modular face plates system?

Pin Chuck or pin jaws do all they suggest as an advantage to their faceplates.  I rough all except spindles with my https://bestwoodtools.stores.yahoo.net/pinchucks.html pin chuck or pin jaws.  Inexpensive, safer roughing than spur center, like the faceplates, and since the wood shrinks virtually nil along the grain, dropping a bit into the pin chuck hole once the wood is cured is guided by the endgrain removing crossgrain for circular and a remount.

I have never used a modular system before but can see why people do.  Leave the one part on and remount it when you need it.
