Good day in the shop today! - MauleSkinner - 05-26-2020 I’ve been working on some house/honeydo projects lately, but finally got a day to play in the shop. Finished up a couple of bowsaw frames, so I don’t have to change blades anymore. ![]() I’m planning to try some stake furniture, ala Chris Schwarz’ Anarchist’s Design Book. After Peter Tremblay’s thread upstairs about workbench stool height, https://forums.woodnet.net/showthread.php?tid=7355179 I decided to start with the tall three-legged stool, with some modification. I dug out the tapered reamer I’d made a number of years ago, and made a matching tenon cutter. I’ve got a chunk of 8/4 red oak to be used for the legs...I split it to get the straightest grain orientation, and started squaring up the stock. The front piece is squared up at 1 3/8”. Behind it you can see the next piece of raw stock. Finally, I made a shaving pony to shape the rough tenons before using the tenon cutter. It’s a little crude yet...I’m leaving room for adjustment as I use it. Thanks for looking! RE: Good day in the shop today! - C. in Indy - 05-27-2020 It looks like fun -- keep those updates coming! Thanks, Chris |
