Water puddling under running sprinkler head - mikefm101 - 06-22-2020

Hi

I have several Hunter PGP heads that the ground around them is dry, but when the sprinkler runs there is an awful lot of water puddles around the head.

Maybe an inch deep and five inches across in under a minute of starting.

Some of these are brand new heads.

Any idea ideas why this is happening or is it actually normal? Not every head does this so it seems odd.

Mike

Since they are new probably something (twig, stone) stuck in the riser. Check this page LINK

Water hitting the grass around it.
No Teflon tape on threads.
In a depression, so water flows to it, instead of draining.
