Makita FYI - Bill Holt - 12-07-2020 I'm probably the only guy who did not know this..............Be sure the speed switch is FULLY engaged!!!!!!!!!!!! Several weeks ago I tried to use my Makita 18V hammer drill but the clutch to the chuck was stripped (so it sounded). I found an almost new hammer drill on eBay for an excelent price. Had some time on my hands, so I drove 33 minutes to the new Makita Service Center, Dallas. When I described the problem, he said "check the speed switch". Sure enough, it was not FULLY engaged. Oh well, now I have two. RE: Makita FYI - iclark - 12-07-2020 That sound like important info to know. Naive question: how can a speed switch not be fully engaged? RE: Makita FYI - Stwood_ - 12-07-2020 Because you haven't pushed it far enough? RE: Makita FYI - Cabinet Monkey - 12-07-2020 or it slipped out when it was dropped ? |
