Mobile base for planer - lift mechanic - 01-20-2021

My Delta 3 wheeled mobile base is hard to move about. I have built several mobile bases out of 1/4" x 3" x 3' angle iron that are easy to move around even with a heavy machine on them. ( 2 - 5" casters and a lever / handle on casters for the third wheel )

I have a Delta DC 380 15" planer on the stock base. The bed height off the floor is 28.5", most of my other machines are 34". Do you see any disadvantage to raising the bed height to 32" - 33"? I know that the machine might be little top heavy but my mobile base design should be stable enough.

Any thoughts about raising the bed height?

I see no issue, personally I prefer a higher machine.

This Bridgewood sits on the edge of a 2x8 with a 2x10 wrapped around the 2x8 on a shop fox mobile base.  It's high so I don't bend and it moves if I want it to.
