Sanding discs, best deal? - Cooler - 03-03-2021

I thought it would be easier to order sanding discs from Amazon than going to Lowes.  And possibly cheaper too.

But there are so many options that I cannot figure which to choose (7 pages on Amazon.com).  Most don't list the manufacturer of the sanding discs.

Any advice?

Amen for Klingspor. Not cheap, but good value for excellent product.

I bought several 12" 80 grit discs from Menards when they had their 11% sale. The sandpaper stands up well but the adhesive doesn't stay stuck to the sander. It seems very sticky but if I don't spin the disk by hand and push the disk down it will come flying out at me.
Moral of this story is stick with known quality.

The machined cast iron platen is perfectly clean and wiped down with acetone before replacement. Should I try anything else to insure the sandpaper stays suck? I even pre-warmed the platen in case my 57 degree shop was too cold.

The last few years of my business buying was from Amazon on the Mirka sanding discs, which I still have close to 15 boxes.
At the time it was the best prices when they would do the drop on prices for a day.

DuraGold I believe is 3M. I've bought some of the cheap ones from Amazon use once/toss don't last.

I buy virtually all my stuff from Industrial Abrasives.

+1 on Rhyno - anything disks or pads.
