Mice Traps - Suggestions? - varkpilot - 07-05-2021

"Minor" infestation!  Got one via old-fashion spring trap.

AMAZON has a countless list.

What has worked for you??  Should I plan for outside & inside?

Thanks in advance!

We used to be infested as well, until we filled a few holes, hired an exterminator,

and placed these around the perimeters of our garage. (He placed a few when he was here)

We don't even fold them into a tent, just lay them flat.

Mice like corners between walls and floors.

That's where we put them.

For my unheated detached shop directly adjacent to a wooded area I used the “walk the plank”  traps.  Search youtube.

I used a 13 gallon tall kitchen plastic trash can with water and automotive anti-freeze coolant.  Peanut butter for bait. If you are not checking it often you can add salt or a toilet bowl bleach cleaning tablet to try to control the decay/bacteria.

 Not suitable for living spaces.

The new plastic trap designs do seem to be a lot better than the old metal bar/spring type. I couldn't find the ones I bought, but most of them will be good. The Victor line has always been around and I've used their plastic traps in the past, they also worked very well. I think (but can't confirm) the last ones I bought were the "Jawz" brand.

Jawz.  Been using them for years.  Link

The traditional snap traps did not work well for me.  They were easily "robbed" by the mice.
