Fein MSx 636-1 sander - Wild Turkey - 07-26-2021 Triangle detail sander Picked up one of these as part of an "estate sale" deal. Anyone use one? What do they do best? It’s Fein’s 2nd Generation MultiMaster tool and is / was more than a sander. The best thing it does is last and last - puts the energizer bunny to shame. That’s the good news. The not so good is : it’s a fair to bad detail sander. Hard to avoid swirl marks , but it’s ok for removing film finishes with aggressive grits that will be painted over again. Mor bad news is some of the current blades and sanding pads don’t mate very well to the post because it was just a circle then. The design tends to slip under load. There also no dust collection option while sanding which makes for a mess, clogs and wears sandpaper faster. I’d keep it for a beater flush cut saw, but wouldn’t spend a lot (or any) money on it. |
