Anyone in need of a bandsaw suitable for large work? Don't know the seller, but thought this was a beaut...

I have no need for anything that large.  I wouldn't mind having it though if I had the space for such a beast.

Back in the days when that saw was made (1950s), a 36" general use commercial shop band saw was pretty much the standard size with the larger format being a 42" saw.  Those direct drive motors were smooth and quiet.

I have it's older sister. Turn of the last century era. It's some serious old iron. The babbit bearings had been changed to ball and the flat belt drive to V's decades before I got it. I spin it w/ a 7.5 HP 240v 3 PH.

That is a beaut but if the motor is direct drive, the 460 volt 3 phase could make life difficult. I can't tell if there are belts in there or not.
