Is this the slowest website ever? - DaveCreatesStuff - 09-09-2021

I just joined, and am having to wait 20-25 seconds after each mouse click for a response.  I don't have this issue with other sites and have tons of bandwidth.  Is it really this slow to respond or is there some obscure setting I need to set somewhere? Using Chrome browser.  Thanks

Followup I noticed after posting this that it seemed to be waiting on a google ad server.

I Logged in from work (where ads are blocked) and there is no delay at all.

It sounds like one of the 3rd-party ad servers may be having a bad net day. If the google ad server is pointing at a server impacted by Ida or by the wildfires, it might explain what you are seeing.

If the problem persists at home, please see if you can see which google ad server is the hangup. If you can, let us know and the admin might be able to get google to fix their pointer.

FWIW, Firefox seems to be more forgiving than Chrome at loading a page that has a bad link on the page.

It’s a problem with all the ads. I log onto WoodNet with three different computers and it’s always the same. There is some background process tying things up with the ads. I can’t find out what it is, because it’s not on my end.
