An Arts and Crafts lamp - Eurekan - 09-27-2021

Just finished my version of Stickley Desk Lamp #506. QSWO, fumed, varnished. Outstanding grain reveal. The originals have a copper shade but I'm not up for that. A rudimentary plan was published in the The Craftsman magazine.

[attachment=37970]

[attachment=37971]

I like this one..

Very nice.

Do you recall which issue of The Craftsman you found it in?

RE: An Arts and Crafts lamp - Eurekan - 09-27-2021

The Craftsman, vol. XVII, no. 3, December 1909, pp. 338-339

The basics are there but you have to do some interpreting, measuring, guessing on your own. Plans call for 2 layers of glass but I used translucent plexiglass and mica.

Thank you. Found it. I was thinking I would make a 3D model and perhaps a dimensioned plan while it's fresh in my mind. Then maybe I'll build one, too. I like your choice on the shade.

A few details and the shade to add. https://flic.kr/p/2mv8itq

Thanks for the inspirartion and information.

SWEET! That looks so very nice. A recommendation on the shade. . . I used lap joints on the shade then mitered frame over the mica. I would suggest a half lap miter joint for the shade along with the mitered frame if I did it again.

Thanks. That sounds like good advice.

Very Nice, but I would have used real glass
