Food Safe Stain? - Gibbcutter - 01-04-2022

I made a charcuterie board out of hickory. I plan on using Tried & True Danish Oil ad the top coat. Is there a food safe stain or dye I could use prior to the Danish oil to add color?

The most obvious one that come to mind is food coloring.  I've used it on wood ornaments, under a lacquer spray finish it worked fine.  I've been surprised that they haven't faded much over time either.

I found this at Home Depot - others as well through a Google search. There appear to be a few different colors
