Its primary purpose is as a radial arm saw. However, the unit can be adjusted to make rip cuts, beveled cuts, resawing, dado, plus many other configurations. I have completely gone thru this machine top to bottom. It works perfectly. Extremely heavy duty and versatile. It has a brand new custom made rock maple top measuring 65.5" by 25.5' by 1.5" thick. It also has a brand new 16" high quality carbide tipped blade. 24+ inch crosscut capacity by 5.5" thickness. Motor is direct drive 5hp 3ph 20amp. It was built back in the 1950's. I used it to build the house I'm living in, have not used it for 6 years.
