A Fancy Drill Bit? - bandit571 - 11-29-2023

While putting away toys..found this in a drawer..

Seems to be a way to open it up and sharpen it?

Just have to figure HOW to sharpen it.....

Before I can place it into a Brace drill.....

It's a counter sink

Soooo....just exactly HOW would you go about sharpening this?

RE: A Fancy Drill Bit? - MarkSingleton - 11-30-2023

I think I would try to chuck it into a power drill and run in reverse on sandpaper, holding it at the right angle of course.

Easier said than done of course. If you have a spare auger chuck, perhaps an adapter of some kind could be made.

If you remove the screw can you fit sandpaper glued to a piece of sheet metal between the two halves?

Yep, and..the 2 halves can rotate side to side, as there is a pivot point up at the tapered end.
