Replacing capacitor on condenser unit? - EightFingers - 08-15-2024

Specs on mine say 45 + 10 mfd, 440v.

All I can find available are 370/440v. Ok to use that?

Mine is working now, I just want to have a spare on hand.

I'd hold out for the correct/same one.

The one you found marked 370/440 means it can replace ether one rated at 370 or 440 .  If a capacitor is just marked 440 you cannot replace it with one marked 370.   They did this to prevent confusion but it is just as confusing.

The dual voltage rating of caps is foolish. The v number is it’s insulation rating. Anything rated equal or higher than the original is fine. The mfd number is it’s capacitance. For convenience sake, match the original and you’re good to go.

That will be fine.

I appreciate your advice!

I was going to link your specific cap, but there's too many to choose from.
