My made in England Record Vise Collection - Yotie - 09-10-2024

Was able to finalize my made in England Record Vise collection... 52, 52 1/2, & 53 ... I found the 53 brand new … I have a 52 1/2 on my personal bench and have had some fun finding all 3 for potential future use.

Nice but whats the difference between the 52 1/2 and the 53, I have the 52 1/2 on my work bench to and an old wilton quick release. Is one better then the other?

The 521/2 is 9” wide and opens to 13 1/2”
The 53 is 10 1/2” wide and opens to 15 1/4”

thanks, I see that now, they were so close in the pix it just didn't register. I have to say I've had 2 jourgensen 10x4 quick release vicss but from the top of the vice to the mounts was maybe 2 inches or less the record is 3 -1/2 inches or so which make a big difference. The only problem is if you bring the top of the jaws close to the level of the workbench the dog sticks up above the top, I just removed the dog and use it as a vise, some people just make a wooden dog.
