I can’t understand why one would buy a cheaply made chuck when all they need to buy is a bigger set of jaws that surely are a lot less costly than that chuck with a wobble.

Depends wich way you are looking, from the tailstock end it is counter clockwise, looking the other way, that is from the headstock to the tailstock it is clockwise. And yes impact is the way to go...

If you buy a set of jaws for your Oneway chuck you get also a set of screws with them, having bought a couple of jumbo jaws and other jaws, I have a good handful of Oneway screws.

I don’t have that lathe, but a low of 600RPM is too fast for larger bowl turning IMO The RPM on the lathe below is apparently 740, and there were some issues, that took a video to convince the powers...
