The guy never got back to me. I found another guy selling some wood. It is fresh cut and still wet. I bought one hickory 7” x 9” x 8’ long, two spalted maple 7” x 9” x 8’ long and one cherry 6” x 6” x... |

~60 cent/BF for oak or hickory (possibly old growth) sounds like a steal.

I round all of my blanks on my bandsaw before I put them on the lathe. I didn’t know I had anything wrong with the bowl. I was happy with it as is. |

You will want to rough turn the bowl first. You want to leave the thickness 10% of the diameter. So a 10” diameter bowl you will want to leave 1” thick and put in a paper bag with the wood chips to dr... |

I added a shelf on the bottom and a little weight. I also rotated the head a little to turn the inside of a bowl and it worked great. |
