Post: RE: hardwood buckled from a bit of water

I've had it go both ways. I had a 3/4" floor buckle a little, (not as bad as yours). It flattened out ok, not perfect, but like yours it was in an out of the way place behind a piece of furniture so...

Another strange thing is that the board was completely straight and flat, and the two pieces after they were cut remained straight and flat. There was nothing to make me think there might be a proble...

So I've never had this happen before.  Last night I'm cross cutting a PT 1x8 with a 12" miter saw and 2/3 of the way through the cut the saw comes to a stop.  The board pinched the blade so hard that ...

I need 42 of them. Quarter inch MDF is preferred. I don't have a lathe or CnC. I do have bandsaw, drill press, routers , table saw.

Was not aware of the hike saw without the center bit. I don't have a CnC, but I like the idea. I don't have a lathe, but I bet I can find a 3" dowel. Thanks guys. Another thought I had ...

I need to cut a bunch of disks.  The catch is I don't want a center hole that I have to patch. I need to batch these out faster than trying to cut them on the bandsaw and sanding them into a decent...

Thanks for the offer. I think it only works for me if one of us is going to be in the neighborhood of the other. If I drive 4 hours round trip, I'll burn enough gas that it eliminates the savings ov...

Post: 4" bench top jointer $50. Sold

Does not have a motor. I put a pulley on the arbor of my table saw and use a belt to drive it. Don't know what it's worth but I just need to make some space. Prefer local pickup in Acworth GA. Tri...

I've seen a lot of terrible fish tank stands. The thing is, to purchase one they are crazy expensive and aren't much better that what you got.

I'd take the existing one down. If you want to know what's under it, drill a hole. If you change your mind, you can just fill the hole.

Mine looks identical to Jim's. It is a pain as it is always in the way. I haven't used it in years. I was looking at it yesterday and it will probably get disassembled and the lumber repurposed.

My bandsaw is a grizzly 14" with a 6" riser. I'm using a 3/4" resaw blade. I have recently sharpened it, so that could be the problem. On a couple of test cuts, it is clearly sharper than it was, b...
