This explanation makes sense, but it doesn’t act the same as it does in a piece of firewood. When you split a piece of firewood, the inside is wetter than the outside.

I had some renters who failed to let their dogs out. Back a zap sprayed on the troubled areas really helped eat the smell. I still ended up sealing the hardwood floor with shellac based primer.

Every product I’ve used that contains it has been for bedbugs. Bad applications of pyrethroids have made them resistant to many pesticides.
