I just completed a bed base with drawers constructed with prefinished baltic birch.  It was $15 more per sheet.  It costs me about $15/sheet to spray two coats of lacquer on unfinished BB.  The prefin...

Post: RE: Anyone have the Sawstop sliding table?

I have the smaller crosscut table and do like it.  The angle gauge is easy to set.  Bearings run super smooth.  It takes a bit to get the sliding table level and flush with the saw table. The bigges...

Post: RE: Flexible drum sander speed?

I think you will find 3450 rpm too fast for the flex drum sanders.  They suggest a dual speed grinder, but a slow speed grinder works well.  I started with an offbrand grinder and found the shaft diam...

I am learning the art of intarsia and added a scroll saw.  Also traded in the 19" Grizzly bandsaw for a Pegas scroll bandsaw.  Each has it's place.  The scroll saw is limited to a 2" max cut and is re...

I had the same thing happen with a cypress table and BLO finish.  Mold/mildew seems to like the oil finishes. Careful with the power wash.  It is easy to gouge out the soft wood parts.

91600 Btu per gal propane.  So a 100 gal propane tank with a 100,000 BTU/hr tankless heater would operate about 100 hours.  That is a lot of showers.

Consider a 48" diameter steel vessel head, 3/8" thick.  Weld three legs under it and you have a raised firepit.  Not easily moved however.
