Thread: Stanley #8 Blades & Tote Question
Post: RE: Stanley #8 Blades & Tote Question
I don't have a huge collection of planes, unlike some people. More than I need, that's for sure. I have never seen a chip breaker that lost its spring, but I have seen one that was ground crooked wh... |

Thread: Stanley #8 Blades & Tote Question
Post: RE: Stanley #8 Blades & Tote Question
I really want to try a Lake Erie Toolworks blade. But if you're looking for cheap, that ain't it. And they don't sell chipbreakers.

Fine Woodworking sent me a promotional email about this company. Since Rob Lee had a fit about the Katz-Moses router plane, I'm pretty sure his reaction to these planes isn't going to be positive.

I remember seeing castings at Delta just sitting outside. They get cleaned up later, no reason to fight the rust.
Melancholy thought. |

The way I'm interpreting those studs, you may end up cutting into the perpendicular adjoining wall cavity. Then it becomes a real mess. I think it makes sense to get a sheet metal mechanic to modify ... |

What makes a saw not-resharpenable? I just heard of a saw where the maker intends for you to replace the blade fairly regularly.
I have some cheap crosscut saws that seem to work really well. Probab... |

Seems like they come up on ebay occasionally, probably because people part out the planes after they break the adjuster. Somehow the adjuster on my 135 is fine, but the screw is missing.
