Thread: Workbench advice please
Post: RE: Workbench advice please
My workbench top is 4" of Doug Fir. It's been in use (15+ hours a week) for five years without problem.
Mine came from 20' 2x12s but your beams should be even better. |

David Fisher's work (and now yours) is so inspirational that I have a dozen or so log chunks from Hawaii (thanks ebay) awaiting my getting started.
As a NYR I've started on a piece of aromatic cedar.... |

They are going to be nice! Every year your post (or a similar one) inspires me to make sure I have the pattern.
Then I proceed to do nothing. Perhaps this weekend I can break that pattern. |

Post: RE: Christmas lights for the drill press
I do look forward to your impressions of this drill press. It's software settings to aid tapping metal interest me greatly.
I've never quite mastered the acts of tap and die work. |

At some point over the last five years I've transitioned from collector (hoarder) to being a mere completist.

I'm late to the game here but I'll offer two suggestions and summarize a lesson for the rest of us.

My favorite backsaws are the 20" ones you made for me. They cut beautifully and always stop traffic when they come out of the saw till. |
