Roofing and roofers are a bit different than other trades. It wouldn't surprise me that if you had wind damage, lots of others did too, and he ended up with dozens, if not hundreds, of similar repair...

Skip the Allen wrench and use a bolt or stud with a nut tightened against the insert. It's much easier to keep a deep-socket perpendicular to the surface. I also use paste wax on the inserts.

My experience is that the grills friction fit, and reveal screws underneath that turn a plastic tab that draws tight to the topside of the drywall.

We have a Kinetico RO system and like it, but the dealer left town and the cartridges are proprietary, so it's a hassle to get them mailed.[br][br]Whichever one you go with, I'd search for replacement...
