You may want to check out Paul Sellers site and he has a video of making a workbench ( www.paulsellers.com ) I built this cheap bench from standard crap 2 X 4's from HD for about $50 almost ( 3 ) year...

My Daughter and Son in Law did that to their ( 3 ) garage floor when they built their home 2006, we were able to buy the house next door to them but Didn't even think about that until my Son delivered...
