As OldFart says, there is a metal plate at the bottom of the groove where the leg rides.  If you look closely at the pics above, you can just barely see it at the bottom of the groove.  I didn't let t...

Thanks for the replies.  The pins that hold the Crisscross bars are still fairly snug.  I can just barely push them by hand.  I haven't checked to see if one of them is bent.  The chop is still parall...
