We just finished a quartersawn white oak chest where we popped the figure with amber shellac followed by laying down 5 coats of Arm-R-Seal...as a sidebar, we mixed up a 60/40 blend of semi-gloss poly...

This product, ARM-R-SEAL SATIN 1 QUART, came from "Furniture Supply". When trying to open the top, I had to use vise grips because the metal was so flimsy and thin! This resulting in damaging the lid ...

Yeah Waxlit is what got us started down this path in the 1st place...Lee Valley used to carry it but don't anymore so we just wiped on some paste wax along our 90 degree joints....for years and years ...
