It is a bit small and light for a dedicated shooter imho but I am sure it can work. You will be limited on the size of work it can do easily though...

I have played with it and have to say it is a pretty sweet little unit for sure. Super comfortable in hand. That said I will probably opt for the dedicated shooting plane as I have all the other tools...
