Looks like it is off a lot how about a threaded insert and use adjustable legs Those would allow for a lot of ajustment those are available on line and in th BORG they come in multiple sizes

Fred's idea might work the nut appears to be very rusty so just cutting it apart might be the only option i think some of the guys are looking at it and seeing the hole but not realizing the hole go...
