Employees can be tough on that front too. They are charging xxx/ hr, I make xx/hr. They don't see all the overhead that goes into getting the job and servicing it.

It won't stop a motivated mouse.   Foam isn't a good option to keep anything out.   Even bats will get through it.

I bought a reusable ring.   Its foam and rubber.    I had to yank the toilet this winter and it all went together fine afterwards.   I doubt I'll use a traditional wax ring again.

most venting is accomplished at the soffit and ridge vents.   There are ways to clad each in metal and keep it ventilated.   Same with gable vents. I was speaking more of dormer tie ins and such.
